Padgett Business Services and the Padgett Foundation are dedicated to giving small businesses every advantage possible. It is in that spirit that The Padgett Foundation Scholarship Program was established. Each year, in your community, we award a $500 scholarship to a graduating high school student whose parent or guardian is a small business owner. We're proud to report that this scholarship program has already awarded over $800,000 to the dependents of small business owners.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Padgett Business Services Foundation Scholarship Campaign is to provide educational opportunities to dependent children of owners of businesses with fewer than 20 full-time employees, while at the same time creating brand name recognition for participating offices in their market areas and international name recognition for the entire Padgett Business Services operation.

Eligibility Requirements

Each applicant must be a graduating high school senior planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution, and a dependent of a small business owner who has fewer than 20 employees, owns at least 10% of the stock or capital of the business, and is active in the day-to-day operations of the business.

Applying For The Scholarship

Applications are available at your local Padgett Business Services office, on this webpage, and online at www.smallbizpros.com. Applicants will have to verify grade point average, test scores and details about their parent’s or guardian’s small business. In addition, they’ll need to list extracurricular and community activities, and write a short essay on their education and career plans. Applications must be postmarked by March 1st, and business verifications must be requested by February 15th.

Awarding The Scholarship

An independent scholarship committee will judge each application, and local winners will be announced in May. Local winners in the U.S. will be eligible for an additional $1,000 award as the U.S. National Scholarship recipient, while local winners in Canada will be eligible for an additional $1,000 award as the Canadian National Scholarship recipient. One of the two national winners will receive an additional $2,000 award as the International Scholarship recipient. The winners of the national and international awards will be announced after June 1st.
